About Vivacity Choir

We started in 2008 as small group of friends inspired to create something fun and accessible to both experienced and new singers. We have grown in number but have remained a non-auditioning, community choir.
Our repertoire is varied, exciting, and always evolving—from contemporary pop and musical theatre to choral classics and world music.
We are led by a talented team of musicians. Kate van der Riet our Musical Director, and our accompanist Julie Curtis are supported by leaders of each vocal section. Collectively, their wide experience allows us to sing a broad range music styles including classical, contemporary, musical and gospel music.
We practise at 8:00pm on Monday evening at Hillsborough Baptist Church, Taplin Road.
Community
As well as being a community of singers we also look out into the wider community giving ‘Pop Up’ performances in public spaces and at community events such as fetes and festivals.
Each year our concert profits are donated to a local charity nominated by our members. Charities we have supported in recent years have included: Yorkshire Brain Tumour Charity and Sheffield Young Carers.
Our Charity for 2025/26 is The Snowdrop Project
